Looks nice, but ...
I purchased 3 of these in May, 2005. I was satisfied with their appearance and operation. However, four years later, when I threw the switch one morning there was a small explosion and the circuit breaker tripped. A wisp of smoke was rising from one of the lamps. I disassembled it and found that the hot wire had corroded completely through, broken off from the bulb socket and touched the metal wall of the lamp causing the short that tripped the breaker.
I see this as either an indicator of poor workmanship or low quality materials. The life of a product like this with no moving parts should be measured in decades not years.
