  • Does it have a fan that blows heatlamp?

    A. The NuTone 9427P has an exhaust fan only. There is no fan to blow over the heat lamp to help spread the heat faster.

  • We have one of your Nutone 9427P-R01 units and we were wondering if it matters which side has the heat-bulb. Does the heat-bulb go into the socket that is farther away from the exhaust fan?

    A. It doesn't matter what side the heat bulb is on. Just make sure the bulb heater shall be NuTone Model 9422P.

  • Can the fan and each of the 2 bulbs be switched separately (3 switches), so that 1, 2 or all 3 functions can be used??

    A. The NuTone 9427P can be wired so that the light and the fan can be switched on individually.

  • will there be sufficent heat for an 8 x 8 bathroom with 9 foot ceilings. We plan on locating it just outside of shower area?

    A. The NuTone 9427P puts off 545 watts of heat, which is quite a bit more than a standard 100W lightbulb, but not as much as a standard space heater. It should adequately warm a room that size.

quality worse I agree with others. I had one for 20 years and the motor burned out. Cheaper to by the whole unit instead of motor. The new one was bigger with a smaller grille. Insulation came raining down from the attic. The whole thing shook and was loud. I finally sealed around it and shimmed it tight. 2 years later the motor burned out. It never drew any air out. That's it. I'm putting an inline fan in. For 90$ it has 120 CFM. The broan unit only had 70cfm. May 8, 2010
whats this junk? I had an older model, same style, to remove and replace with this newer one. What a mistake. The hole had to be enlarged but the cover was smaller than the old one. It barely covers the edge and is mounted with springs that allow it to vibrate off to either end revealing the units chassis. The old one lasted nearly 12 years but this one is making noise already after a month. A waste of time and money. Next time it will be an inline fan, no nutone whose quality has steadily sunk over the years. November 28, 2008
Questions Do the lamps bulbs come with unit? Why isn't there a fan for just the heat lamp? Only one fan works. Also, it does not take the steam out of the shower area like the old one did. And no matter how much insulation we add to the attic, we still get cold air coming down through the unit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. November 25, 2008

One Year Limited Warranty

Broan-NuTone warrants to the original consumer purchaser of its products that such products will be free from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original purchase. THERE ARE NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

During this one-year period, Broan-NuTone will, at its option, repair or replace, without charge, any product or part which is found to be defective under normal use and service.THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT EXTEND TO FLUORESCENT LAMP STARTERS AND TUBES. This warranty does not cover (a) normal maintenance and service or (b) any products or parts which have been subject to misuse, negligence, accident, improper maintenance or repair (other than by Broan-NuTone), faulty installation or installation contrary to recommended installation instructions.

The duration of an implied warranty is limited to the one-year period as specified for the express warranty. Some states do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

BROAN-NUTONE'S OBLIGATION TO REPAIR OR REPLACE, AT BROAN-NUTONE'S OPTION, SHALL BE THE PURCHASER'S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS WARRANTY.
