From a person who has never installed a fan, do you use both the 3.5 and 6 down rods or can you just use either one? Plus, is there a medallion that we can buy that is compatible with the fan?
A. The MinkaAire Volterra can be used with either the 3.5" or the 6" downrod. There are also longer rods available should you need it to hang lower. MinkaAire does make several medallions. You can search them by just typing 'medallion' into our search tab.

Attractive Fan
I have had the fan 2 months. I am pleased with both the looks and operation of the Minke Aire Volterra fan. The fan adds a touch of class and sophistication to my living room. On low, the operation is very quiet. The wall control is easy to use.
I installed the fan myself. I needed help with the wiring. There are lots of wires. After half a Saturday, when installation was complete, I was satisfied. I would purchase again.

MINKA AIRE VOLTERRA FAN
Love this fan, we ordered the bronze and we love the finish, love the night light, we had purchased a similiar fan a couple years ago from a home improvement store cheaper, but we couldnt find another one. We love the fan, a little expensive though.

Very Nice
We are extremely happy with our purchase. The fan/light arrived just as shown in the photo. Runs extremely quiet. When purchasing we thought remote control was something that would be hand held however it is a remote wall switch. This is a nice feature however we do have a concern if the switch were to break is it replaceable and one reason for the four star rating. The other reason is we have only had a short time and not sure what the future holds. Looks and sounds sturdy so we can only hope for the best but feel it is not fare to rate a five for the unknown.

Beautiful fan!
This fan is absolutely beautiful and was very easy to install. I purchased two fans: this one and another one which was more expensive and a different brand. The MinkaAire fan is my favorite.
