the speed of the fan goes to the fastest speed on its own. How can it be fixed?
A. The MinkaAire Salon Grand should not automatically change speeds. The receiver may need to be replaced. If so, the model number for the receiver that was purchased 2 or more years ago is p00102000 and for the newer receiver is p00102000-A. I hope this helps.

Regarding the wall mounted remote control: Does this need to be hard-wired in or is it battery-operated remote control that merely in mounted to the wall?

I need a 3-4 ft downrod for my vaulted ceiling. Is that available in the same finish as the Volterra or Grand Salon?
