Does not work for Retrofit Cans
I ordered this trim for a kitchen recessed lights. But the trim does not work for the retrofit recessed cans (old work) as it does not hide the lip of the can, and it does not flush to the ceiling.

Great product/ iffy supplier
First, yeah, we love the glass trim for our recessed lighting fixtures. The color of the glass definitely influences the color of the light though, and more than I thought. So, at first I orderedthe pale green glass ( looks like jade) to go with my green and gold paint, but we weren't thrilled with the green quality of the light. So I decided to return some of the green glass and switch to the pumpkin glass, which would have a warmer shade of light. EVENTUALLY it worked out fine, but to make a long story short, it took six phone calls for the financial details of the swap to go through. I have spent over $1000 with lighting direct in the last few months as we finish our new home, and in general are more than satisfied with service and quality and prices. The other return I made went off without a hitch, but it seemed this particular company that makes the glass trim just didn't have their act together. We really do love the way the trim looks, it's super fun, so much nicer than white or black or metal, it has a kind of gemstone feeling and so many colors to choose from! We have ours installed with CFL bulbs, so it's not quite as finished/fancy looking as it would be with spotlight bulbs, but we are very satisfied.
