My dining room is about 12 x 10 with a 9-foot ceiling but opens into the foyer, which is two stories. Is the ML 1358 going to be too big for my dining room?
A. The Minka Lavery ML 1358 is 39" in diameter and would be too large for your room. You're going to want a 20" to 30" diameter chandelier. This size is appropriate for a room 12' x 10' x 9'. Also, a chandelier should hang about 30" from the surface of the table to insure no bumped heads and good illumination, should be about 12" narrower than the width of the table over which it hangs, and supply a total wattage of all bulbs should be 200 watts to 400 watts to provide sufficient light.
