  • The picture does not show the difference between the wilshire glass and the marble glass. Can you please explain the difference in the shade styles?

    A. The Maxim MX 2680 comes with Wilshire Glass and Marble Glass. The Whilshire glass is more cream colored. A good example of the color and be looked at the Maxim Model Number 5886. The Marble is white and frosty looking.

  • All globes were to be 3 bulbs. It looks like one has only two bulbs.

  • So how would I find flush mount ceiling fixtures with pull chains? I have not found any on your website.

    A. Generally, flush mount fixtures are going to be directly mounted to the ceiling with no pull chain. We do have a couple of semi flush lights with pull chains, like the Sea Gull Lighting 5997BLE.

  • Why can this not be used in the bathroom?

    A. The Maxim MX 2680 has a UL listing of "Dry". This means that it has not been manufactured to withstand wet or damp environments.

    A. The Maxim MX 2680 shade is removed by pushing the 3 spring clips back.

Solid and inexpensive I bought 4 of these to replace old fluorescent in a basement drop ceiling. The low profile worked well for the 7' height, and the illumination is better than before. I also bought the larger 3-bulb design for an office which now lights the room like day. October 3, 2011

Great for the money I mounted the 2 light version in a small (10 X 10)bedroom and the 3 light one in a somewhat larger (12 X 14) bedroom. It is a an unobtrusive (blends well with ceiling) very flush fixture and the right amount of light for the space. Glass cover is good looking when light is off and on. They were easy to install. I wanted an inexpensive, flush, unobtrusive fixture and this is perfect. June 20, 2011

Looks good, great value This fixture is excellent when installed. The base is white plastic, which surprised me, and before installation looks a bit cheesy. However, it is not noticeable when installed as the fixture is flush mount, and it has held up well. What is noticeable is the attractive glass shade. The shade is easy to get on and off to clean and change bulbs as two of the fasteners are fixed, and one fastener pulls sideways while remaining fastened to the base. The glass shade is finished with a textured appearance. I bought several in both the 2 light and 3 light sizes in the Oil Rubbed Bronze finish and Wilshire shade. (I also bought a 3 light fixture with a marble glass shade.) I used florescent bulbs in all fixtures and with the Wilshire shade, the fixture still has a nice warm glow. The lighter, marble glass shade is brighter, which is perfect for our use in an office. One glass shade had a slight flaw in the finish, but was quickly replaced with merely an e-mail. Overall this is a great fixture at a great price. Service also was excellent. April 26, 2011
Nice bathroom light This fixture works well in our new guest bathroom. It's flat enough to look fine on the slightly angled ceiling. The only caveat I'd offer is that it has a distinct swirly design in the glass that's not obvious in the catalog. At first I didn't like it but have decided it's okay. April 21, 2011

With the exceptions listed below, Maxim Lighting International products are warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for ONE YEAR from date of shipment. The exceptions are:

The CounterMax™ MX-L LED Under Cabinet Lighting 87902WT/SA/MB, 87904WT/SA/MB, and 87906WT/SA/MB will be warranted for normal use for 25 years while the original purchaser owns it. Normal use means residential non-commercial use for no more than 6 hours per day in an environment that does not exceed 77°F.

The CounterMax™ MX-X12 Xenon Under Cabinet Lighting 87849WT/MB, 87851WT/MB, 87852WT/MB, 87853WT/MB, 87859WT/MB, 87861WT/MB, 87862WT/MB, 87863WT/MB will be warranted for normal use for 15 years while the original purchaser owns it. Normal use means residential non-commercial use for no more than 6 hours per day in an environment that does not exceed 77°F.

All Vivex™ outdoor fixtures will be warranted for normal use for 3 years while the original purchaser owns it.

Maxim Lighting International will, at its election, repair, replace or make appropriate adjustment where Maxim Lighting International inspection discloses any such defects occurring in normal usage within one (1) year after date of shipment. Maxim Lighting International is not responsible for removal or installation costs. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the product only and that Maxim Lighting International is not responsible for any labor incurred. Use of incorrect installation methods and/or bulb wattage will void the warranty.
