No transformer is needed? What is the difference in functionality between the 12 volt lights and this one if it is 120v with no transformer needed? Thanks.
A. The primary difference between 12V halogen lighting, vs. 120v halogen lighting, such as the Lithonia Lighting LOC 35, is that 12V bulbs tend to last a bit longer and run a bit cooler (relatively, they still get very hot). The disadvantage of a 12V system is the higher current draw which necessitates using heavier gauge wire than you'd need with a 120V system. I recommend 120V systems, unless the lighting is only available in 12V. I hope that helps. Thank you for choosing LightingDirect.com, we appreciate your business.

I understand the rods are not adjustable, but can the light itself be moved on the rod so it can be directed away from or towards the cabinets. Also, I assume this unit can have a dimmer switch since it is not 12v

Do you need to purchase any additional parts to link the lights?
A. The Lithonia Lighting LOC 35 does not require any additional parts in order to link multiple fixtures together. Each light purchased includes a 3' connector for that purpose, and you can link up to 10 fixtures on one power source.
