Most fans are compatible with at least some light kits, but you will want to stay with the manufacturer.   • I have a Hunter Fan that was installed in my home in 1980 would this light fixture fit on it - It only has a white wire and a black wire with a white stripe to attach the light kit. Are there any other light kits that would fit this fan? Could the current light kit be rewired since the wires are so old?

    A. The Hunter 22574 wont work with most of Hunter's older fans. You may have to replace the entire unit or you could call Hunter tech support as they would be able to help identify the exact model you current own.

Hunter Light Kit We had checked stores in our area and no one had what we wanted. I decided to check the internet and stumbled across this site and found the fan kit. It was an exact match for our Hunter fan. We are completely satisfied with it. July 6, 2011
Great Replacement I actually am an electrical contractor.I live in an ol' ranch house where things need repair or replacement.I like keeping the old fixtures in place.A simple light kit allowed me to do that.BTW,EASY to replace. December 15, 2010
