good over porch dining table
I added this light to a porch ceiling fan I had bought separately. The light is just the right amount for when I want to light my porch dining table from above--like for a card game, or reading at the table. The light is not too bright, but it definitely provides enough illumination. I do not expect to use the light to create a romantic dinner feel; I will use a group of candles in the center of the table for that. The glass shade is pretty, too. It also was a nice option that I could order a finial at the bottom that matches the color of my fan.

Good Looking Light Kit
The leaf pattern bowl looks great with our outdoor ceiling fan. Also, this light kit is outdoor rated and should hold up well in the elements over time. The only drawback I found is the fluourescent bulbs that come with the kit; they don't work with the Hunter dimmer control and flicker at low light levels. I replaced them with regular incandecent bulbs and now the dimmer works great. Overall, it's a good looking light kit for the money.
