What is the material used for these blades? Can I order a light for this fan? What is the shortest downrod I can use?
A. The Ellington Fans TAH52MWW5 fan blades are made out of ABS board. You can order a light kit the part #LK483MWW. This light kit is specific to this fan. 6" is the shortest downrod that can be used for this fan because of the angle of the blades.

Does this fan come with lights? We need a ceiling hugger and do not want a wall switch.

Great for our beach house
This fan was comparably priced to others at Lowes but in a much better color theme (palm/white versus brown/chrome) for a bedroom in our beach house. We did not use it outdoors even though it is rated for such. Well constructed and puts out the air well. I would definitely recommend this fan.

Nice. It improves the style of any room. I have it in my bedroom. The only problem: not finding the right light kit that fits it.
