  • There are comments about the light leakage at the interface of the light and the ceiling. What have you done to resolve this?

    A. As we are not the manufacturer, there is nothing we can do to change the product design. However, if you ever receive a defective product, we will make sure to send a replacement item at no cost.

The fixturw was truly nice and blended in with the kitchen decor. Only draw back is there is not enough light to illuminate the kitchen properly. the visor does not let the light come through and the kitchen is darker than expected. Other than that the fixture is nice. August 25, 2011
Beautiful light, tough installation I like the light now that it's up, but I wasn't all that happy with it at first. It came to me seemingly well packaged, but when I got it out of the box, I found that both sides were slightly bent out of shape, and the plastic lens was popped out of position. As other reviewers stated, it comes with some very thin foam to cover the space between the light and the ceiling. Without it, the light comes out around the base of the light. I read the instructions and carefully installed the foam. When I put the lens cover in place, part of the foam stuck to itself. The space between the light and the ceiling varied between 3/8" and 1/2". I had installed the foam as directed about 3/8" above the rim of the light. It didn't block the light from leaking out all the way around the light. I tried to reposition the foam, but it is so thin that it just tore. I ended up going to my home repair center and buying some 1/2" x 3/4" foam insulation and sticking it to the ceiling to properly block the leaking light. It was a pain. I would think for the price of the light they would have a better system for fixing this leaky light problem. However, once finally up and properly foam rubbered, the light looks really nice. great light We purchased this light fixture to replace an existing light in our kitchen. It is beautiful and such a wonderful addition to our kitchen. We had an electrician install it and he had no problems. It is a 2 person job to get the cover on and off but well worth the effort. I would recommend this light to anyone--it puts out a lot of light. The only drawback is that a little light seeps through at the top next to the ceiling, but hardly noticable. April 21, 2011
more trouble than its worth TOO I COULD HAVE WROTE THE SAME REVIEW AS MORE TROUBLE THAN ITS WORTH. WE HAVE THE EXACT SAME COMPLAINTS!!!! ALSO THE TAPE( LOOKS LIKE CHEAP WEATHERSTRIPPING) DIDNT HELP AT ALL AND THEN LEFT A GOOEY STICKY BLACK MARK ON MY CEILING THAT DOESNT WIPE OFF SO I WILL NOW HAVE TO PAINT MY CEILING. NOT HAPPY!! IT IS REALLY A SHAME BECAUSE THE LIGHT IS VERY NICE LOOKING BUT INSTALLATION IS A NIGHTMARE. September 20, 2010
More trouble than it's worth We purchased this light and had to call because the acrylic lens arrived scratched.Robin in customer service did an excellent job of taking care of the problem and the lens was promptly replaced. However, no matter what my husband and our contractor tried, they could never get the fixture to sit flush against the ceiling. The light comes with foam tape to help with this issue, so I'm assuming there have been complaints about this before. The tape helped some, but you can still see light through the opening between the fixture and the ceiling. Our contractor said he has never had experience with such a difficult light to install. It just doesn't seem it should be this way for the price we paid. Our contractor is going to put some trim around the light so the opening can't be seen, but that's just more expense for us. Would never order this light again. September 9, 2010
I was kind afraid of getting junk from China. If if is from China it's not junk. It's very fine quality. Looks a little bit like the top of a coffin, but in a nice way. We have an older home so we're not interested in making a silk purse out of a cow's ear. This after some expensive adjustments fit our needs. We had hoped that we could be set up as a dimmer so it would not reflect into our large TV. With knowledgeable electricians we were able to do so with 2 , resistors, one for each of 2 of 4 neon bulbs. July 26, 2009

DEFECTS / LIMITED WARRANTY

With the exception of certain series or model numbers which are specifically excluded from the tarnishing warranty and are specified on Designers Fountain’s current price list, Designers Fountain warrants the structure of it products only against defects for one year from date of invoice, tarnishing for six months from date of invoice, and this warranty is ineffective against improper installation and usage or abnormal conditions. Designers Fountain warrants for three months products stored or used in extremely damp areas or areas under abnormal weather conditions, including but not limited to high winds, intense direct sunlight, and acid rain, where products may tend to tarnish easily. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED HEREIN, THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED BY OPERATION OF LAW OR OTHERWISE, PERTAINING TO THE PRODUCTS SOLD UNDER THIS AGREEMENT. DESIGNERS FOUNTAIN DISCLAIMS ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
