Delta Electronics VFB25AEH Breez 130 CFM Humidity Sensor Exhaust Fan, 1.2 Sones

  • Highly efficient DC Motor, noise level less than 1.2 Sones
  • Cycle switch ON/OFF for humidity sensor mode and full speed mode
  • Annual energy cost for 24/7 operation is approximately $22.98
  • Motor self-adjusts to humidity levels
  • Blue and amber LED indicator lights to show humidity sensor mode and full speed mode

Innovative design for long life, low noise and low power consumption, the Delta Breez humidity sensor exhaust fan model VFB25AEH delivers air flow rate of 130 CFM at 1.5 Sones. Power consumption is only 24 Watts with an efficiency rating of 5.4 CFM/Watt. The life expectancy for this fan is 70,000 hrs, which is about 8 years running continuously. This quiet energy efficient bathroom fan combines several design innovations, including a switching power supply that converts AC 110~220V power source to DC power to drive a DC brushless motor. This design provides a quieter solution with energy savings up to 65% compared to traditional AC motor products.  Users can cycle switch on/off for humidity sensor mode and full speed mode. This product has a default humidity threshold setting of 50% humidity environment. In humidity sensor mode, fan will kick in when the humidity level reaches 50% and above, and will turn off automatically after the humidity level comes back down to lower than 50%. The motor will adjust the speed according to humidity levels. When humidity level is high, the fan will spin faster to quickly exhaust the moisture. When humidity level is low (but still higher than 50%), the fan will run at a lower speed, which allows you to continue to vent for better indoor air quality. This product also incorporates a dual color (blue and amber) LED indicator to show if it is running at humidity sensor mode or full speed mode.

Because of the effects it has on health, comfort, and serviceability, indoor air quality in our homes is becoming an increasing concern to many people. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has recommended a mechanical exhaust system to be installed in your home to provide whole building air ventilation (ASHRAE Standard 62.2-2007) in order to improve indoor air quality. This Delta Breez VFB25AEH humidity sensor exhaust fan is an excellent product to achieve this goal with its superior features of ultra low power consumption, and almost silent operation. Cycle switch on/off in between humidity sensor mode and full speed mode for continuous or smart operation. The energy cost for operating this fan 24/7 for an entire year is less than approximately $22.98.

Power rating of 110~220volts/50~60Hz; DC Brushless motor equipped with thermal cutoff fuse; Galvanized steel body housing; Detachable 4” diameter duct adapter; Built in back draft damper; Easy installation; Housing dimensions (LxWxD) = 9.68" x 9.68" x 7.98"; Grille dimensions = 12.36" x 12.36"; Attractive grille design using ABS material; Grille attaches directly to housing with torsion springs; UL and cUL listed for tub/shower enclosure when used with GFCI branch circuit wiring; DC motor technology provides built in soft start function to reduce motor start noise and automatically powers OFF when impeller is locked abnormally; 3 year limited warranty.

Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will purchase another Works great and is very quiet. Only con. Is that in humidity mode it runs very slow after humidity is 50 but never shuts off as others have stated. I put a humidity sensor in room and ran a dehumidifier until it got to 40 but it still ran on slow. With this said I still plan to purchase another for 2nd bathroom. Works great and quiet compared to others I have heard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fan I have only been using this fan for a few weeks now but it has been great. It starts out slowly when the bathroom starts to get steamy and increases the more steam I produce. I have yet to have a fogged mirror! It is louder that I thought it would be, but much more quiet than the old one we took out. Can't say anything about the install because we were remodeling and had the professionals do it. The only problem I have had is making sure everyone leaves the switch in the auto-on position.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really moves the air We upgraded our fan from the original builders fan in a bathroom with a skylight. We had reoccuring problems with condensation buildup and dripping due to inadequate ventilation. Once we installed this fan the humidity is under control. Mirror barely has any steam on it after a hot shower now. Quiet operation and speed dependent on humidity level. Only issue is that we would like the fan to operate on low speed any time the switch is on and then ramp up as humidity rises. The way it is designed however is to only operate on low if the humidity is over a certain level meaning it may not operate when bathroom occupied. This requires us to educate guests about its operation prior to using.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really REALLY Nice Fan! We love this fan. The builder installed four in our house and they work beyond what the manufacturer says. The one thing I needed was a way to have the fan simply be intuitive for guests and not have to explain about toggling the switch between moisture sensing and regular speed to evacuate odors - basically needed to convert to one switch on mode permanently. Well it's easy! Just remove the grill. Unscrew the two little black phillips screws that hold the that little black humidity sensor housing (it's right there with that blue/orange LED in it) and it can be unplugged from it's little circuit plug. This makes it ONLY turn on to odor fan mode (like when the orange LED is lit), no matter how many times you cycle the switch at the wall! Speaking of which, I replaced that basic Leviton switch (at the wall) with a Cooper vacancy sensor switcher (manual on) and set it to turn off @ 15 minutes after it senses no movement, so it has time to evacuate odors AND moisture in the event someone uses the shower (like maybe twice a year). And you can keep the humidity sensor around and reconnect it if you change your mind later. Nice, right? :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as quiet as it states This fan works good for getting humidity out. It does seem to run on the high setting at all times though and it is NOT quiet. I would put the scones above 2.0 vs the 1.2 they claim. I wanted a quiet fan and have nto been impresssed with this portion of it.
