How is this lamp post installed, i.e. underground mounting/fitting? Is there an installation kit that comes with it? What is the final height above ground after installation?
A. The Craftmade Z8994 is made for direct burial, so if there is a hole in the ground with a conduit for electric wiring buried and ready to go then insert the post into the ground at least 8"-12" buried. Because it is 7' tall, there is still plenty of height. The lights come with the mounting kits.

Good Purchase at a good price
I was looking for a pole that did not have the outlet on the top and did not have the gold ends to the crossbar, this met the need. Was very easy to wire. I recomend doing a dry fit first and mark the depth on the pole with a pencil. The optic works well put this post is under a series of pine trees so it turns on early and off late, but that is not the products fault, it is due to not getting a lot of sun light. The post did have a slight chip in the paint near the outlet but it was not big enough for me to send back.

Super Lamp Post
This lamp post has the two things that I was looking for: photo sensor and convenience outlet. And not that it just had these things but also they are positioned where I wanted them (i.e. receptacle near base instead of top). The photo sensor works REALLY well; too well, perhaps. It comes on too early and turns off too late for my preference. If there is a way to make it less sensitive to light I would love to know how to change it.

This product looks as promised. Although, I had a professional install it for me, did not appear to be too difficult.

So far, so good!
Love the design of this post. It is of much better quality than anything I saw at leading home improvement stores. Love the fact that it has an electric outlet on it!
Would have had 5 stars if the instructions came in English. I can't read Spanish!

To obtain warranty service, mail sales receipt as proof of purchase-date, and a brief explanation of the nature of the defect, to P.O. Box 1037, Coppell, TX 75019. You will receive, by mail, a Return Goods Authorization number issued by Craftmade, and returned freight prepaid.
