The fan in this unit is used for ventilation. You can wire this to a double switch to use the two features separately.
The Broan model I have is installed in the bathroom ceiling just outside the shower. It has a fan that runs as soon as the switch is turned on. Is the purpose of the fan to distribute the heat provided by the lamps or to provide ventilation? (I have separate ventilation installed as well.) Is it possible to use only the heat lamps without the fan? I thought that the warmth from two 250 watt heat lamps would be sufficient but I'd like more warmth in the winter.
