1 Question from the Community

  • The Broan 161 uses a Br40 bulb base, which is different than standard bulbs. You have to keep it as a heater.

If I don't wish to use my Broan heater any longer, can I put a 65 watt standard flood bulb in the fixture and simply use it as an additional light?

Product Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and fairly effective It's not cold yet, so I'll reserve judgment until Winter. This unit is simple and adds heat instantly. Takes the chill out of the air.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from useful for the purpose We installed radiant heat in our house, which is slow to respond, so we wanted a warming light in the bathroom, where we already had a fan. So this worked fine. It doesn't generate a ton of heat, but enough to take the edge off on cold mornings. Of course, those are cold California mornings. If you live someplace really cold, you may need something else.
