Chandelier

Traditional / Classic:

Traditional styled chandeliers are defined by having smooth scrolling and symmetrically curved arms. However they may also feature classic bell shaped shades.

Contemporary / Modern:

Contemporary Chandeliers will generally feature hard lines and bright finishes such as nickels and silvers.

Tuscan:

Tuscan chandeliers generally will be available in bronze and other dark finishes. They usually feature sweeping arms that often end in a smooth curling fashion.

Transitional:

Transitional chandeliers generally share attributes of classic and contemporary chandeliers. They will usually be offered in multiple finishes ranging from chrome and other light finishes to blacks and bronze tones.

Narrowing by Finish

Because there are so many unique finishes offered by the manufacturers we carry, we have grouped them into common tones to more easily allow you to find the finish you're looking for.

Compact Fluorescent (CFL)

CFL bulbs are more and more frequently becoming the norm in the American household. With their long life span and bright shades CFL's are always a good option if you want a fixture that performs and saves you money every year.

Candelabra

Candelabra bulbs are more common in chandeliers than they are in any other lighting. Chandeliers with candelabra bulbs may or may not include shades but everyone can be accented with shades that are designed to be clipped to the bulbs themselves.

Halogen

Halogen bulbs are known for their brightness and long life spans. Although these bulbs get quite hot they are a good solution if you are looking for ample amounts of light.

Incandescent or Fluorescent

We have combined all the fixtures that can use either a CFL or a standard incandescent bulb into one simple location so you can choose whether you would like a more traditional setup or an energy saving CFL configuration.

Medium Base Bulbs

Medium Base also known as A type and Standard Base is the most common base among chandeliers.

Candelabra Base Bulbs

Candelabra base bulbs or torpedo bulb types are smaller bulbs with lower output usually used on chandeliers with a high number of bulbs.

Wedge Base Bulbs

Wedge base fixtures are generally for use with halogen or xenon bulbs. You will usually find these on contemporary fixtures with smaller shades.

Bi-Pin Bulb Base

Bi-Pin bulbs can range from MR-16 to GU-10 base bulbs. These bulb bases usually offer a high light output with minimal wattage use.

Selecting the Number of Bulbs

Use this section to select the number of bulbs that you prefer your fixture to have. Once you select a given range you will be able to narrow it down further to a specific number of bulbs.

For example, if you are shopping for a 2 light fixture you will want to select "0-3 Lights", and then "2 Bulbs" in the "Bulb Count" section on the next screen.

Number of Tiers

The number of levels the fixture has. If you have a lower ceiling, you might want to narrow by fixtures that have only one tier. However, for those higher ceilings, you might want a much taller fixture with several Tiers.

Chandelier Height

The height of the chandelier is determined by the distance of the lowest point of the fixture to the point at which the chain connects to the fixture.

Chandelier Width

The width of the bathroom fixture is determined by the distance from the furthest reaching outside left point to the furthest reaching outside right point.

Bell Shades

Bell shades typically will be narrow where they attach to the fixture tapering to a wider opening for the bulb.

Cylinder Shades

Cylinder shades are round straight shades that predominantly project light in one direction.

Rectangular Shades

Rectangular or square shades are classically associated with contemporary, art deco and asian styling.

Round Shades

Round and spherical shades are less common in American homes but provide a very distinct look that accent vessel sinks quite well.

Ambient Lighting

Ambient Light is designed to splay light in all directions and is usually good for close to ceiling applications.

Down Lighting

Down Lighting directs light downwards by using open bottom shades to minimize the amount of light that is projected upwards towards the ceiling.

Up / Down Lighting

Up / Down Lighting chandeliers generally will have bulbs on the arms and either a bowl or another light source in the center of the fixture. These chandeliers are good for installation in open areas where light is helpful in both directions such as near a staircase.

Up Lighting

Up Lighting is a common type of chandelier and although the light is being directed upwards will still provide ample illumination for many applications. Some manufacturers offer chandeliers in both up lighting and down lighting styles.

UL Wet Location:

Wet rated chandeliers can be placed in locations where they will be in direct contact with water such as outdoors.

UL Damp Location:

Damp rated chandeliers are designed to be installed in locations where they will not be in direct contact with water but may experience damp conditions due to condensation or other indirect water contact.

UL Dry Location:

Dry location fixtures should only be installed in locations where they will experience no contact with water
