Each Duet lamp has an oval base from which two poles extend, each holding one socket that has its own on/off pull chain. Satin steel with oval ivory silk shade. Two satin steel finials secure the flat white metal disk that sits atop of the shade, casting all light downward.

Duet Table Lamp 2 5 1 1
Awkward The overall style of the lamp is nice, but the construction is awkward. First, in the pictured it looks as though the base below the metal plate might be wood, but it is actually a felt "skirting." Second, the wiring does not lay flat within the base so the lamp was off-balance. I returned this lamp but kept the Adesso/Santa Cruz, which I like very much. The return was easy -- the customer service folks at Lighting Direct were very friendly and helpful. July 27, 2009
